Excreta's Dream House
The poop house concept makes sense. The structure is essentially a tensile structure. You know the tents with "poles" which are really tubes filled with compressed air, rather than a physical pole? In this concept, the medium is water rather than air. The water can be pumped out of the walls and utilized for showering and washing dishes, and then pumped back into the walls (a gray water loop). Of course, not all the water will make it back, so the level of water will get lower and lower. Over time, the secondary outside envelope fills with household waste (food scraps, poop, etc) until it is full. So by the time the inside water envelope is empty, the outside structural envelope is full of shit and the house is complete. Tough to explain, because it doesn't really all add up.
But in any case, there are a lot of interesting ideas flowing through the heads of Andrew Maynard Architects, out of Australia. Below is a structure that might be designed for people who want to save trees from clear-cutting. The idea is that you can save 3 or 4 trees as a time, rather than just chaining yourself to one.
